Neil Labute BASH Two short dramatic plays Iphigenia in Orem Medea Redux Iphigenia in Orem: The eponymous Iphigenia of the play is a baby girl who is suffocated by her father. This is a monologue addressed to an unseen person some years after the baby's murder. It takes the form of a confession which is heavily interspersed with the murderer's rationalizations for his deed. Medea Redux is a tragic tale in which a woman recounts the complex relationship with her school teacher and describes how she murdered her son for revenge. Directed by David Chkhartishvili Translated by Nana Samchkuashvili Scenic and sound design by Levan Kvaratskhelia Produced by Tengiz Khukhia The roles are played by: Vakho Chachanidze (Iphigenia in Orem) Keti Luarsabishvili (Medea Redux) For the first time in Georgia. Photographer: Giorgi Solomnishvili About Performance: Carmen (Shadows of the Dark Web) is a modern interpretation of Prosper Merimee's story on the stage of the Georgian theatre. Dark Web is a small, dark, messy place full of fraud and crime. The play takes place in the office. The company "Onion Road" is an intermediary link between criminals and consumers. Carmen's characters live in a world where money and passion are the main things. Where there are no moral values. The characters deal in drugs, pornography, and are involved in fraudulent schemes. Carmen's issue is timeless. The problem of searching for love, jealousy and irresistible passion is eternal. Carmen's characters are connected to each other by toxic relationships. Here, love and hate mix indiscriminately. Eternal is the thirst to taste the forbidden fruit and the desire to feel the things that the lustful people experience. He is well known for his film scores and live performances accompanying silent films, blending medieval and Baroque music with experimental elements, creating immersive and meditative experiences. We invite you not only to enjoy these remarkable works but also to support their creators with your honest and valuable feedback. Your insights, as refined cinema lovers, will be extremely important for these talented filmmakers. Share what impressed or amazed you, and highlight areas that could benefit from further development. Your feedback will be a key part of their artistic growth. During the festival, online meetings with the filmmakers will be organized, allowing you to discuss the films, ask questions, and learn more about the creative process. At the end of the festival, the participants will vote to select the winner.
